Moving from ILT to Blended Learning

default-16x9

I'm excited. On paper it looks like a great concept. Create continuous learning opportunities throughout the lifecycle of the employee utilizing a variety of delivery methods, structured evaluation to improve employee engagement, retention and core skills. I've been hoping this would happen for years; that we could utilize our generally-respected innovation and apply it to the thing I care most about - training and development of our folks. And I am now part of the global team charged with the responsibility....and then terror strikes...

How?!

So many questions and so few answers yet from the specialists leading the charge (yes, that includes me!) We have the expertise in-house to create all this...but who? Everyone tells me they haven't the time to create material or work with vendors. And everyone is so attached to their in-class training, how do we show them it is not as effective as they think? That there are many more ways to improve core skills? And how do we overcome the barriers that cultural differences pose in respect of learning styles, use of technology, and confidence in speaking English across the global network? How do I get the business to understand that standing and talking AT someone for 3 days does not equal improved skills?

A lot to do. The enormity of the journey we're embarking on has well and truly struck. I tell myself "Little steps, H; little steps" and fall back into another fitful sleep.
