The government has announced a £1 billion programme to develop the National Grid for Learning which will establish Internet access for every school in the country over the next four years. In addition, colleges, libraries and other institutions will be linked.

As part of the programme, a Challenge programme for schools, colleges, companies and learners has been set up.
