Vicky Wright, an associate at Watson Wyatt, has succeeded former Cabinet Secretary Lord Richard Wilson as President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
She has been elected to the post for a two-year term of office.
On taking up her post, Wright outlined the significant challenges she believes face personnel and development professionals:
"Chief executives are now more aware than ever of the critical importance of getting the people dimension of their businesses right,” she said. “The challenge for human resource professionals is to raise their game to deliver the performance expected of them. The CIPD has a key role in providing continuing professional development opportunities and undertaking high quality applied research to enable its members to put people at the heart of building successful organisations."
