From 1st October 2001 – 30th September 2002, all new and existing Microsoft Trainers (MCT’s) will have to complete the following in order to retain their MCT status:
1. Show proof of technical skills by achieving and maintaining a premier certification (MCSE, MCDBA, or MCSD).
2. Show proof of attending a Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) course at an MS CTEC (Microsoft Certified Technical Education Centre). The course must be a minimum of 3 days in length, and have been attended within 12 months of your MCT application date.
3.	Provide proof of your instructional/delivery skills.  This can be achieved in the UK by passing any one of following:  
§	Corporate Learning’s 2 day Trainer Development course and linked MCT (Instructional Skills) assessment 
§	The Microsoft Instructional Skills live assessment (Contact Sheila York or E-SkillsNTO)
§	Complete the CTT+ exam/Video assessment – CompTIA’s International, vendor neutral, delivery skills certification 
4. Read the MCT guide and complete the MCT application. Submit the application along with all certificates/checklists to the Microsoft Regional Education Centre for processing.
In addition Trainers will now also have to complete the following:
1.	Pay an annual fee
2.	Earn 20 Continuation Education Credits (CEC’s) – 15 Technical, 5 Instructional by taking exams, attending conferences and seminars
3.	Deliver at least 10 days of MOC or MSDN® training courses
