Company press release,June 20, 2000--
HR.com(TM), a new on-line knowledge hub, community and marketplace devoted to human resources was officially launched today.
Free to users, this unique site combines and presents information on a range of human resource topics in a way that is fresh, interesting and innovative.
Debbie McGrath is the President and Founder of HR.com: "We wanted to build a site that offered HR professionals and other managers dynamic, useful and highly relevant on-line information that would be right there at their fingertips whenever they needed it. The early signs are good that we are meeting that goal. There is already a ground swell of support for the site", she said.
A beta test site for HR.com has been operational for one month. In that time, the site has attracted over 13,000 visitors and generated 462,000 page views.
Designed to be highly interactive, HR.com supports eight distinct communities that represent the specialty areas within the human resources field. This includes:
-- Compensation & Benefits
-- Information Systems
-- Management
-- Labor Relations
-- Legal
-- Organizational Development
-- Staffing
-- Training & Development
From each of these communities, individuals can research topics and find relevant articles, purchase a related book or research report, locate a consultant/vendor to help them, connect with a peer who has had a similar experience or receive free advice from HR.com's experts. Community members can `cyber walk' over to the WaterCooler to ask other members of the community a question, or join an existing discussion.
The HR.com Training Center, also an integral part of the site and developed in alliance with TrainSeek.com(TM), provides access to over 120,000 training products and programs that individuals can compare, preview and buy on-line.
"We are very pleased with the response we are receiving from the business community", says Ms McGrath. "The human resources function has become increasingly complicated. Employees are demanding more, competition for talent is fierce, vendor selection is an enormous task in this highly fragmented industry and business strategies are turning on a dime. It's a very tough time to be managing the people side of business. Our objective is to make life easier. Now, instead of visiting dozens of HR-related sites and other more traditional sources, you can come to one website for many of your HR needs."
Future phases of HR.com will include deeper content, increased e-commerce opportunities and enhanced features to help members save time finding what they need to make smart decisions, quickly. Every week, new productivity tools and research reports are added to the site, along with the latest news and product reviews.
Membership to the site is free of charge.
