Linda Holbeche is to join the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as its research and policy director.

Currently director of leadership and consultancy at the Work Foundation, Holbeche will replace Duncan Brown in June, and be responsible for leading the CIPD's management research programme.

She was previously Director of Research and Strategy at Roffey Park Institute for 12 years.

Speaking of her new post Holbeche said: "My research into high performance organisations convinces me that the contribution of the people management and development profession is key to unlocking the potential of individuals, as well as to building organisations which can achieve sustainable high performance. And the CIPD has a huge role to play in using its substantial and ongoing research and evidence base to demonstrate that fact, and translating these findings into practical advice and guidance for people managers.”
