September will see the yearly round of enrolments taking place at adult education establishments around the country. To encourage adult learners to sign up and to help alert them to the vast range of study options on offer, NIACE, the National Organisation from Adult Learning, has launched 'Sign Up Now', a national campaign to support and promote enrolment.

NIACE is co-ordinating a number of open evenings, exhibitions, fairs and drop-in centres across the country and is encouraging adult learning providers to register their details with LearnDirect. Adult learning organisations can add their own activities and obtain promotional materials.

During 'Sign Up Now' the Leicester and Manchester learndirect centres will offer callers the opportunity to speak to tutors, specialists, and to other adult learners, with a particular emphasis on the needs of dyslexic learners.

NIACE is also hosting the second annual National Adult Learners’ Seminar on 7 September 2000. The forum is an opportunity for adult learners to voice concerns and views on issues affecting their learning, and a report detailing outcomes from the forum will be sent to the Government.
