Do you want to have quick access to excellent templates? Sometimes it is easier and time efficient to use a template rather than to create a document from scratch. For those who are not aware, Microsoft has a superb resource centre, which contains literally thousands of templates for use with Office 2000.
One such template that could be of particular interest to trainers is the ‘Training Manual’ template. The template is interactive, so once you have opened it from the link on the opening template page, all you need to do is click on the ‘edit in Word’ icon. The template then opens into Word (a 9 page training template), containing full instructions on how to ‘create a manual’, with instructions for using preset styles. Thus the instructions are contained within the template itself. The best way to use these instructions is to print them, delete them from the template – leaving it blank; you can then set up and save it to your own requirements following the printed instructions.
The above template can be found at Training Manual
Another useful template in the same section, Publications Education, is entitled ‘Leading a Training Seminar’. This is a PowerPoint template, and as with the Word template, once you open into the template just click on the ‘Edit in PowerPoint’ icon and the document opens into a 9 slide PowerPoint template, containing full instructions of how to create a slide show on training.
