May is here and we are rapidly approaching the 20th of July.
Why is this relevant? I hear you ask
Because it is the publication of my first truly solo book. It will be the fifth book I've had published internationally but this one is the first one that is my baby from start to finish. Yes, Pearsons Higher and Professional Education, the publisher, has had a commissioning editor, a desk editor and a proofreader all crawl over the text, but unlike the other books, this was my idea at the outset. No one has laid down a formula to match in with other books in the series, because this isn't in a series.
This week the first advance version should come out and I have copies being sent to all sorts of wonderful people, several of them TZ members, for them to read and provide (I hope) nice comments about its usefulness and value that will go on the cover jacket. It is already available on Amazon, WHSmith, Waterstones etc for "pre-order", though the cover picture they have isn't the actual artwork scheduled to be on the finished edition.(http://www.amazon.com/Be-Your-Own-Career-Coach/dp/0273771167 if you are interested)
The book is aimed predominantly at the individual who may be considering changing career in mid life (or, let's face it, may be being forced to change career mid life) though it will be of great value to a young school or college leaver or a graduate. Several TZ members were kind enough to provide nuggets of wisdom and case histories which have found their way in to the book and I hope that I've done them justice!

Congratulations!
Many congrats Rus, I hope it does well for you. When you get a copy, send one on for the book club. Maybe send through an ebook version if you’re doing one – we’re trying to give people a digital option if they want one.
cheers
