Hi,
We are currently looking at developing an Induction programme and looking for this to be a big hit across the company.
We have come across some problems with technology that we currently have in our company and that currently it can't hold an all singing all dancing on line induction. So we are now looking at perhaps maybe doing a CD version for the short to mid term.
Has anyone else had any of these problems and what did you do to get around it/overcome it? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ruth

You can actually do a pretty good online induction using Powerpoint and links kept on a shared drive with read only access. It is dead easy to update without the help of the IT department and can produce most of what you probably need.
I can’t show you one but I did have one in the past, I promise!

Dear Ruth
You could consider web hosting your solution and allowing learners to access this via the Internet rather than your intranet.
This would have the fringe benefit of allowing learners to access courses from their home, hotel or cyber cafe as well as dedicated Internet access desks in the workplace.
Train for work is a unique online learning portal, available under licence to any organisation that wishes to prepare people for the workplace.
You can find out more about this by visiting:

Hope this helps

Hi Ruth,
this is something very close to my heart at the moment, seems like we are working to the same constraints!!!
We have decided in the short term to go with PP, video clips and associated doc’s stored on a shared drive But used via the company intranet…
Its not ideal, but with 14 functions, too many teams within these to count across europe (we are global but I am looking at just EU at the mo) and evryone wanting their own way, its the best we can come up with.
Unless we get the Global Director to spare a few million….ah well wee can but dream.
