TrainingZONE Online Workshop
Improving the performance of project and virtual teams
Tuesday 3 July 2001, 13:00-13:45 BST
at https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/workshop/

The workshop will focus on how a project team can work effectively, particularly within a large, bureaucratic organisation. How a multi-disciplinary, often geographically separated team can more quickly reach true consensus, make decisions, influence management, and operate in harmony within a network.

Among the issues to be considered:

  • Using the power of purpose to exert authority, and unite the team
  • The role of members in a matrix team – and where that leaves the line managers
  • Building true consensus amongst members from different functions
  • How project teams can influence senior managers
  • How a virtual team can meet/communicate effectively at a distance

About the workshop facilitator:

John Faulkes is a learning and development consultant, with a background in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a specialist in organisational/team development, and is particularly interested in multi-disciplinary matrix/project teams – how they network, connect, communicate and make decisions. He works with pharmaceutical industry R&D and manufacturing groups, as well as other clients. At present he is working on integration of traditional development activities with online & e-learning methods.
