Teambuilding is a much discussed topic, and often touted as the sure-fire 'quick fix' way to get team members working effectively and productively together. But does sending a group of disparate individuals off to spend a day or two working on a series of apparently unrelated tasks really help to focus their attention? What is it about teambuilding workshops that those due to attend often dread, and how can teambuilding sessions achieve a better profile among delegates?

In this week's session we explore some of the issues thrown up by todays market for teambuilding sessions. We'll be trying to define what makes for a successful teambuilding session, examining what part self-assessment tests such as Belbin can really play in helping team members self-awareness and looking at how trainers can take account of current thinking to keep sessions fresh and interesting for clients.
