TrainingZONE Online Workshop
What's the future for the training department?
Tuesday 8 May 2001, 13:00-13:45 BST
at https://www.trainingzone.co.uk/workshop/

In April, the Department for Education and Employment reported that training spend in organisations had reached a record high of £23.5 billion. Yet in the same month, we reported that a UNISON survey finds many local authorities struggling to find funds to support training in the workplace. With the CIPD reporting fears that the trend towards self-managed learning will lead to organisations 'passing the buck' for training, what is the role for today's training support functions to play?

In this online discussion, we'll be looking at the following:

  • Can in-house training departments still pay their way?
  • With the move towards self-managed learning, what sort of support is being expected, and how can learning continue to be monitored?
  • What role is there for Learning Management Systems to play in automating administration?
  • Is outsourcing the answer?

If you play a key role in supporting training in the workplace, please do come along and share your views. All TrainingZONE workshops are free to attend - simply log in at the time and place shown above.
