Outdoor Training Activities

default-16x9

I need to put together a 2 day Training Course for a group of 20 people. part of one of the days will be taken up with outdoor based tasks to support the learning from the classroom. The main topics are Leadership, Team Working, Setting Objectives, Communication Skills and Basic Problem Solving within Time Limits. Any help/advice/direction would be appreciated, as the 'outdoor' practical task section is something that I have not had to do before.

  1. Take a look at Teamscapes
Have you considered the Teamscape exercises run by the Sundial Group? They have four locations in the UK and we have used them with a variety of client groups and found them to be very effective.

Contact Nicola Trigg at their Barnett Hill centre on 01483 893361 (please give her our regards!).

I would be pleased to provide you with ‘testimonials’ from some of our clients, if you are interested.

    Kind regards,

  2. Orientering
I have in the past taken trainees to a local park where there are marked orientering courses. The days highlight the importance of communication, working as a team and also bring to light the importance of negiotation and listening to others. If you don’t have any local parks which take part in these sort of events, a simple cryptic clues to send individuals around a city centre can be as effective.

Other energisers we have used are games such as toxic pasta which bring in problem solving skills.

If you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

  3. So many options
    Angela

There are many different options for your day – different types of outdoor and experiential activities. If you email me I will send you short descriptions of the different options and the objectives these can hit. Arena development offers impartial advice on the pros and cons of using this type of learning and guidelines on key considerations. 0191 384 5528 if you’d like to discuss as well.

  5. Outdoor learning
I conduct a simple outdoor exercise for groups of up to 28 which involves the consolidation of the learning processes from the classroom. It includes all topics that you are asking for and encompasses time management … and it is excellent fun as well. Please email me if you are interested in the details.
