We are looking to improve the effectiveness of our performance and development management processes. Does anyone have any recommendations for:
a) on line performance appraisal and development systems (including 360 feedback)
b) consultants who specialise in performance management.
If anyone has used consultancies to help them with performance management systems or processes I would be very interested to know roughly what they did for you and how successful the work was

Performance or Appraisal Management
I cannot offer much on line advice or a signpost there,but one of my principal mentors in this field was Gilpin and Black who are based in Northern Ireland- sorry dont have number
Based on their advice I am using some of their models for my forthcoming training sessions in Cumbria. Modules include benefits,objective setting,preparation,model documentation and critically delivering a series of pre course seminars, away days, to gain corporate and individual ownership.From my specialist perspective(equal opportunities( I am also equality proofing the system
I am sure they would be happy to give you advice.

Strongly link it to Business Performance Improvement
Hi Richard
I do not have a link to an online system to recommend but from my experience with PM in several companies, I would strongly suggest you tie this into Business Improvement. That way all your efforts, and everyone completing the PM and Development processes, are tied to helping the business achieve its goals.
It concentrates the minds of business managers and becomes a line management drive not an HR one.

Online appraisal
We have a performance appraisal toolkit (available from training zone).
MoorHits.com could easily create an online version of this system, or indeed of any other system you like. They developed our LMS for us and have done a brilliant job.
