Have you ever received products on approval from training resource companies and then been in dispute with them on return?
I recently asked for 5 products on approval, returning 2 in pristine condition (cd's unnopened, 'tags' in place, all pages in place), intending to keep 3.
I received a telephone call from this major national company stating that I'd damaged the products and would have to pay for them. They left my company in the same condition they arrived!
On receiving them back, one product had cd for a completely unrelated product I hadn't ordered, both had the copyright tags missing and had pages in the wrong order.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar, and, if so, how was the situation resolved.
The irony is that to pay for the two damaged products I'll have to return three I intended to keep!
I am unsure what to do and feel that
a) my reputation has been damaged
b) the relationship with the company is severely damaged
c) my training will suffer as I am unable to keep the products I wanted to use.
Any answers? Any help? Any suggestions?

It would seem to me that there’s been some mix-up at the vendor’s end, for you to receive back items you never had in the first place, so it’s disappointing that they are reacting in this way.
I would have thought you had no problems here.
That aside, this company seems to have overlooked the fact that you’d like to buy three of the products anyway, so negating any “wear and tear” costs from posting approval materials to and from prospective clients.
I’d stick to your guns!
I intend to stick to my guns!
The company claim that they can prove the products were ours and ours alone.
I am currently seeking legal advice and intend to stick to my guns.
