As a Training manager I have been observing new trainers deliver IT training to staff. The trainers are not subject experts but undesrtand the new IT system staff will use. This shows with the lack of questions the new trainers are asking staff during training, so some validation is not taking place and it isn't helping staff transfer their learning back into the workplace i.e. by asking them to think how this new system will change a process for the better/or how this will impact on how they currently do the job. I intend to run a "Lessons learned" event before we move into the next phase and wondered if anyone had any good exercises on questioning skills/techniques to show how this can help validation and transfer of learning?

session planning
Hi Linda
I think its good practice to include a guide of the questions you ask within your session plan i.e. when about you ask them and what you are trying to achieve when you ask them (assess understanding, provoke thought etc.) I’ve probably got an example lying around. Give me a shout if you want me to send it on
Cheers

Hi,
I just spotted your posting on here and I am in a similar situation as yourself.
I was wondering if you did manage to find any good questioning exercises that you would mind sharing?
Kind Regards,
Russell
