Sitting in baths full of baked beans, getting your head shaved, walking round town in fancy dress and paying a pound to wear a red nose - all tried and tested routes for collecting funds for Comic Relief at work. This year, the event, which is taking place on Friday 16 March, tackles issues 'below the belt' by asking people to 'Say Pants to Poverty' by seeing how many colleagues you can fit in a pair of pants, organising three-legged pants relay races and holding a competition to find the owner of the worst pair of pants in the office.
Video Arts reckon Red Nose day is also a great opportunity to build teamwork - after all, you're bound to become better acquainted with someone when you've seen their underwear! As a result, they're producing a special video on the subject of good teamwork to use on the day, available for free when you make a donation to the charity in question. The ‘Say Pants to Bad Teamwork’ video is presented by Dawn French and includes clips from some of Video Arts well known teambuilding programmes starring comic actors such as John Cleese and Hugh Laurie. The video comes with additional ideas on how to test and enhance your teamwork skills and raise money for Comic Relief at the same time. Briony Slot from Comic Relief says: "Red Nose Day provides the ideal excuse for getting in some hefty team building, and exploiting a bit of healthy inter-company rivalry whilst blowing cobwebs out of the system at the same time."
To get hold of a copy of the video, send a cheque (suggested minimum donation £50) to Comic Relief, 5th Floor, Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TP or go to www.videoarts.com.
