"Thousands of employees focused on learning on Thursday 20 May, national Learning at Work Day. Hundreds of employers, including, Marks and Spencers, Homebase, Sainsbury's, Vimto Soft Drinks, National Grid, British Aerospace, Rolls Royce and the West Country Ambulance Service were involved. Learning at Work Day is part of the annual celebration of adult learning, Adult Learners' Week, organised by NIACE.
'Given the choice most of us would like to learn at work. ' says Campaign for Learning Chief Executive, Bill Lucas, ' In fact, our research shows that the work place is one of our favourite learning environments, second only to our homes. What's more, 77% of us would prefer to work for an employer that supports learning and training rather than one that gives large salary increases."
