Review of August

default-16x9

This month we focused on virtual and remote training so we have had a range of articles including one on  how to motivate teams from Iris Clermont, the development of immersive technologies from David Wortley and how virtual training fits into the overall learning and development mix from Stephen Walker.

We also looked at how to create compelling online content with this two-part series from Angus Mcleod here and here). Added to this, it was good to see how elearning has benefitted the London Fire Brigade.

Outside of these articlesGary Platt's article on the Ebbinghaus Forgetting Curve was popular and provoked a lot of comment.

TrainingZone Live speaker Seven Suphi shared her thoughts on emotional intelligence and leadership and we also looked at creative leadership and authentic leadership.

Community members posted many blog posts - too many to mention here, but they are all good reads and cover a range of topic areas from paperless learning to bullying, to the importance of shoes when networking and the development of trainers.

And a look at the Any Answers section shows just how helpful community members are - want to find out what to call a learning centre? Then check out these ideas.

Finally, there has been a lot of discussion on day rates for L&D professionals, sparked by Frances. I spooke to Frances about this and she said the community had not only helped in the discussion but had also boosted responses to her mini-survey. Frances has said she will share some of the findings from that survey. I look forward to that.

Apologies I haven't mentioned everything that has been added - I figured it would be a long list. The aim here is to provide a flavour of the month that has just gone.

September is social learning month . . . more on that soon.
