The BBC has reported that three managers have been sacked from the Rover plant at Longbridge, after allegations that they requested payments of upto £2000 from workers submitting for voluntary redundancy.
The sackings followed an internal inquiry which is believd to have heard taped evidence of requests for payments to be made to the managers. The workers submitting the requests for voluntary reduncy needed the written approval of their line managers to proceed with the redundancies.
The redundancies follow the sale of the Rover operations by the German BMW Group to Phoenix.
