Hello all,
I am trying to source freelance trainers who are qualified and specialise in Employment Law, to run a series of courses for a large retailer. This potentially could be a Nationwide project so I'm not worried about their location.
Anyone recommendations are gratefully received.
Thanks in advance and regards,
Phil

define “Qualified”
Hi Phil
Sorry not to answer your question but define "qualified"…..do you have to have a qualified lawyer or a qualified trainer; what level of subject matter expertise do you have to have (it may depend on the objectives of the course).
I’ve delivered courses with employment law areas but I’m definitely not an employment lawyer. (I doubt that many employment lawyers are actually going to take the pay cut to deliver training. Go on all you employment lawyers working as trainers…..argue with me…then Phil will know wh/where you are!)

Thanks Rus
Thanks Rus,
I did wonder think I would need to add a bit more.
Our client has CIPD qualified trainers and they have good knowledge of employment law. The course will be aimed at senior managers and they would like to use a trainer who has a specialist knowledge and a qualification in that area, an Employment Law Diploma or equivalent.
Given the nature of the contract, I agree, the list of employment lawyers will be short!!!

Employment Law
One of our freelancers William is a TOP ANORAK in this subject and the very opposite of dry and dusty!!! In his spare time he even acts as a volunteer advocate for those suffering in employment from a wide range of perspectives
He is rather unique in that as a practioner he has actually met with and worked with what for others are just academic case studies. William has met the case studies and helped them!
Try him at trainingqed@aol.com or drop me a line at qed.training@ntlworld.com

Recommendation
Hi Phil
I recommend Louise Dunford. Louise did a one day training session on employment law for senior managers for me as part of a programme I organised and received great feedback. She made what can be a complex subject straight forward. She has a linkedin profile:
http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/louise-dunford-bennett/1/834/b06
Depending on what you are looking for exactly. I would also recommend Brenda Handley-Howorth of The People Chain. She acts more as a consultant, however I have collaborated with her on some training requiring an employment law element, such as recruitment and selection. Her website is: http://www.thepeoplechain.ltd.uk
Hope these help
Rosanne
Thanks
Many thanks to all who have contributed.
