Seeking Web Merchandising Training

default-16x9

There doesn't seem to be much out there in terms of companies who offer this training. It is all about selling in an online environment and quite different from content writing. Has anybody got any useful training contacts who deliver this type of training?

    1. Sorry this isn’t THE answer to your question but maybe it is AN answer

    2. If you can’t find what you want in the marketplace maybe you are just too far ahead of the pack

    3. So how about….get your people to identify “websites that help me buy” and “websites that turn me off buying”, give them the time and resources to do this and to analyse a reasonable sample of both, identifying what it is that makes it good/bad. (content, layout speed, details, language etc etc etc) Then get together for a day and actually present findings to each other and draw generic learning points/best practice from the outcomes. You can then convert from “What we have learned” to “What we are going to do about it” (you might want to use an outside facilitator to do the last bits).

    4. Then you will have generated real lessons for your team and, most of all, as they’ve been involved they will probably buy in to it more. You will also have some potential improvements for your own business as well, similarly generated by your own people, not some outsider.

If you like this idea and would like to talk further please let me know on rusdotslateratskydotcom…..if you want to shoot the idea to bits please feel free to do so on this forum!
    I hope this helps

  2. We’re thinking about it
Hi Ginny, Myself and two associates who are ecommerce managers were just discussing a similar thing this weekend. We’re conidering getting our heads together to deliver an ecommerce marketing training session/seminar sometime in October. The content will probably be around creating sales pages, Search Engine Optimisation, Email marketing and Pay Per Click adverts. We’ll be looking at how to write effective advertising. This session will be in Leeds in mid October, and if it goes well it may be somethng we take further afield. If you would like more information then just let me know.
