Self assessment of development needs

default-16x9

I am looking for good resources that will assist staff in self assessing their own development needs and if possible also determine their job/task preferences. In addition to this question, I would also be grateful if anyone has information on skills audits/skills analysis and how to conduct them.

    Heather,

I have some information and exercises that may be of use to you from some work I did with a previous client. What pitch do you require the self-assessment at? Team Leader level or team member level?

Please mail me contact me on 0151 677 8135 to discuss further.

  2. Skills Manager – an online self-assessment tool
    Heather

We are the producers of ITM Skills Manager which may help you with self assessment. ITM Skills Manager is a web based skills gap analysis tool, developed in association with the MCI, which enables users to undertake an on-line self-assessment which will identify skills gaps, determine the training required and produce a personal development plan. For a demonstration, visit our website http://www.dmt.co.uk or contact me on 01635 297093.

  3. Learning Labs
    Hi Heather,
We can offer you the ability to deploy multiple learning learning paths / assessments to your organisation via your intranet / internet / LAN. This would inlude the ability to deploy our own end user aplication training / support courseware but also your own proprietry / third party CBT / DVD etc content.
No reason why deployment of preferred skill paths could not inlude paths to accreditation programmes ?
Please call myself on Tel 01472 501234 for more info.

  4. Self-assessment of needs
    Heather,

I’d recommend a combination of the Strong Interest Inventory (available form Oxford Psychologists Press) and MBTI to understand preferences and the effect of these on careers and tasks.
There are several approches to identifying individual needs depending on the context. A self-manged group approach to help each individual to identify their own needs can be very effective. If you want to discuss this in more detail ring me on 0191 384 5528 or email me andyjaggard@execdevint.co.uk

  5. Self-assessment tool
Hi – if you are still looking, please email me. I have a thinking styles questionnaire which measures an individual’s preferences for processing information at work – based on meta patterns from NLP, it is fun, interesting and takes about 15 mins to complete. The real learning is via feedback/coaching sessions based on a personal profile and dev’t plan produced.
