Self-directed learning

default-16x9

The organisation I work for is moving to a Self-directed learning approach. As the graduate development exec. it will be my responsibility to deliver the concepts and introduce the way of thinking to self-directed learning.

Does anyone have any information, thoughts, opinions on this area or know where I can find it?

Thanks in advance for your help

  1. Self Directed Learning
    Hi Nicolette

We have a programme specially written for the self-directed learner. It shows them how to learn faster from written materials, how to stay alert, how think and learn in a balanced way, how to create and use mind maps, and how to overcome personal learning blocks.

A well known high street retailer has used the programme already with great results.

If you’re interested please contact me on 01273 298356.

  2. Self-directed / managed learning
    Hi Nicolette

I co-run a Masters programme based on SML and self directed learning and have also implemented a scheme in house in a previous existence – I would be very happy to share any thoughts and experiences if it would help! I’d also suggest that you look at any books by Ian Cunningham or Ben Bennett on the subject of SML – Ian is one of the founding fathers of the approach in the UK and has also set up the Centre for Self Managed Learning which may be worth a look.

If you would like to talk about it please call me – my mobile number is 07747 802600.
