Our company has only ever used coaching for selected senior individuals using external coaches. I am looking to make coaching more widely available within the company by providing some coaching support myself (my role is in OD; I am a business psychologist trained in NLP and coaching).
I am looking for ideas and experiences from anyone who has marketted an internal coaching service.
Any experiences would be very gratefully received
IF anyone has any material they have used my email is Richard.rogers@celltechgroup.com

Selling coaching internally
Richard
As an organisation that delivers personal coaching we are often asked to support an internal selling programme.
We have used a number of different approaches but have found that by far the most effective is also the most simple. Generally, the coaching process is very effective and the recipient very positive. We have found that the most effective approach is to run a pilot scheme with internal volunteers and to use these people as the ‘selling’ mechanism. Those managers who are cynical about training are far more likely to take notice of colleagues.
This approach has now become our preferred method. It takes longer to get the whole programme running but you know that everyone on it is a willing volunteer rather than a pressed man.
Hope this is helpful.
Kind regards

Do you know what people are prepared to buy?
If you haven’t already done so, you could start asking people at different levels of the organisation what problems they want solved and build coaching around this either as one of the tools for the job or the primary tool.
The people who buy into using coaching are those that have a real and deep commitment to achieving their stated solution or outcome and value the caching relationship as a means of enabling them to do so.

Help from CIPD
Found what I considered a useful document recently ‘Coaching & Buying Coaching Services A Guide’. It was on the CIPD site & available to non members. Worth a look.
