Shortage of e-business staff

default-16x9

A study carried out by Forrester Research called 'Pumping Up Internal Ebusiness Talent' has highlighted that owing to a shortage in key staff, that up to 40% of e-business projects can suffer as a result.

The reason stated is that employers do not really understand what the demands are of new e-business jobs. It also highlights that employers need to understand that it is not simply a case of matching job titles with hard skills, these e-people need to have skills such as innovation, to be market-facers and enablers because they will need to do more than the obvious first-generation web jobs.

The average e-business department appears to have a 31% shortfall in qualified staff with shortages in e-strategists and those that understand the business aspects of the internet are the most difficult positions to fill, although they have been identified as the most critical e-role.
