A friend said that they were a qualified trainer since going on one of these courses. Is anyone familar with this provider - is it the same level as the C.T.P?

Craft Trainer Vs C.T.P
Yes
Stowbow at one time where part of the Hotel and Catering Training Company which was and still is as far as know the Industry Body for people working in the hotel and catering industry. The Craft Trainer Award was designed for people at shop floor level who wanted to train their staff in caft skills ie chefs or waiting on tables serving behind a bar etc.. The craft training award is usful as a bolt-on for technical people at the sharp end in this industry. It is in my opinion not as in depth as the CTP.
Hope that helps.

Feedback on Stonebow
I have actually attended craft trainer, group training techniques (both Stonebow courses) and CTP. In my opinion the Stonebow option is extremely practical, giving a good grounding for someone just starting out in Training. CTP is very theoretical, and could be perceived as going to the next level. It is more advanced and more general, whereas the Stonebow option is Hotel and Catering focused. The Craft Trainer is specific to the coaching method, whereas CTP covers a lot more.
