I've been tasked with developing a Succession Planning Strategy for my organisation and I was wondering if anyone had any templates or tools that they were willing to share?
I'm particularly interested in what information you draw upon to identify potential candidates, rather than just looking at the leaver's direct reports.......if you'd be interested in sharing, my contact details should be in my profile.

The best thing is to use technology, there’s some really good and affordable solutions out there at the moment.

We will eventually be buying in a product that will aid us in our Succession Planning. However, we have committed to having a framework in place by the end of Q2, hence my post!

Lisa, if you’ve got access to the CIPD website they’ve got a succession planning factsheet in their HR Practice section. Alternatively I googled succession planning strategy and got the OrgPlus organisation. http://www.orgplus.co.uk Personally I’ve never used them not heard of them but may be worth a look …???
