I'm looking to design and deliver training in supervisory skills to first-line supervisors in a transport company. Any ideas where I can find relevant material, including ideas for activities and videos? Has anyone done something along these lines who wouldn't mind sharing some pointers with me?

Try ILM
The Institute for Leadership and Management would be ideal for this – they have materials for two accredited courses which might suit you – Team Leader or First Line Manager. Their website http://www.i-l-m.co.uk will give you lots of info. Good luck

Hi Tina
I have some new supervisory level self study materials for sale. They are excellent and I am using them to deliver Team Manager training for several groups in Scotland.
I combine the self study units with discussion groups and skills development workshops.
The materials are very easy to use and are getting superb reviews from the 60 Team managers that are suing them.
E-mail (dcoleary@msn.com) or ‘phone 01925-225135 for a chat and more info.

considerations
I would just add that your audience are a real consideration in the sourcing of materials – experience would suggest that for real success you should consider a bespoke/tailored solution in order that the skills are translated into very practical activities for the workplace to underpin the application of learning – too often recently I am experiencing skills programmes that go no further than identifying areas to develop without any real support in the means of doing this! E-mail me on a.nash@tfa.co.uk and I would be happy to discuss further.
