A survey conducted by eTForecast reveals that by 2005 one billion people will be using the internet. By 2000 the number already using the internet worldwide had already reached 400 million.

Even though wireless technology has not yet to date delivered what is expected, once this technology has been improved, they predict that it will take off rapidly once these services are modified and content is made available.

Wireless internet users at present account for less than 10% of internet online users globally and is expected to grow to over 62% by 2005. The areas where most of the growth of internet users is expected to be is from Asia, Latin America and parts of Europe.
