In my experience most people find it difficult or uncomfortable to be paid a compliment. So what does this say about most people?
To me it says, we're more conditioned to hear what we've done badly than what we've done well. (i blame parents and most teachers; including me and mine, for this phemonena)
I was playing the only game in the world worth playing today... golf. (but that's a separate argument) I tried an experiment and counted how many compliments I could pay my playing partner before they just gave up brushing them off and just said "thanks".
23... yes 23 "Nice shots" or "Great putt", or "Brilliant up and down" before he simply said thanks... and believed it.
Take that lesson back into tyour workplace as a leader and remember to hammer home your compliments, because your your positivity will flow off your followers like water of a duck's back until you absolutely soak them!
