I am looking for an innovative provider of Teambuilding training to run a half day session at a conference I am developing for our supervisor population (approx 30 supervisors will attend). I want something that will cater for a wide range of ages and a culturally diverse group, that will have a motivating impact on the conference and also lasting benefit? Any ideas?

Our sister company used Metis
Our sister company used Metis in Manchester to run a similar event for some of their senior team. I know that they work overseas and across all levels in organisations and have a really good background – might be worth a call to Jan Kelly (their MD) on 0161 875 0100

Purposeful teambuilding
Haydn,
may I suggest that you are clear about the purpose of the session. I have run loads of team building events for up to 180 people and one has to be clear about the purpose of what one wants to achieve. If you’d like a chat about it, call me on 0117 986 2194.

cerebrally challenging team tasks
examples:
MINEFIELD
A realistic bomb has to be retrieved from a minefield using various ropes, hooks poles etc.
QUICKSAND CROSSING
The team has to make its way across an imaginary quicksand, without falling in, with the aid of a flat board which has to be manoeuvred across with two team members on top. Its progress is made possible by using five large plastic rollers. The team members on the ‘raft’ have to move the rollers from front to rear in order to achieve this. The raft is pulled by a rope, which the team has to loop around a pole on the far bank, and is steadied by another rope at the rear to ensure a smooth crossing. The object is to get all the team across in the least number of moves.
NETWORK UXB
This is an intriguing mind game involving all team members aiding the control of a burning fuse by means of long cords. The cords are kept off the ground by passing through pole and pulley systems, which reverse the direction of movement. The fuse has to be positioned precisely over several pyrotechnic explosive devices to set off demolition charges.
ELECTRIC FENCE
Two ‘electrified’ fences, each with a 1-metre gap, are placed either side of a minefield. Using planks, crates, ropes etc. the team has to get itself and equipment through the fences and across the minefield without touching the fences or the ground.
EGG BALLISTA
Each team constructs a launcher capable of firing an egg as far as possible. We supply a varied selection of equipment and materials to use, and hence there are endless solutions. This is an intriguing team task which also provides fun, with the ‘projectiles’ often going straight up, or even backwards, during the design stage! At the end of the event all the teams demonstrate their Ballistas, with the team reaching the furthest gaining most points. Points are also awarded for design.
