Teen’s IT Training Success

default-16x9

A Yorkshire teenager has become the youngest person in the UK to complete the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Advanced IT skills qualification.

Fourteen-year-old Chris Shaw studied for the ECDL Advanced qualification at evening classes in York College having gained the initial ECDL qualification last autumn.

Dr Craig Shaw, Chris's father, said, "Attending evening classes as well as going to school is no easy feat but with our support, and that of the college, Chris has achieved both ECDL and ECDL Advanced qualifications. I am sure these will help him in his quest for a career in IT."

Chris is now studying for his GCSEs and hopes to enter the IT industry, possibly via a modern apprenticeship in a computing firm.

Chris's younger brother, Jamie, is following in his footsteps, studying for the ECDL qualification at age 12.
