Telephone Sales Training Using Web Demos

default-16x9

Hi everyone. I have been tasked with researching any sales training that is available to help our telephone based sales teams to sell IT prodicts. This selling would include some kind of web demonstration of the product e.g. Sharepoint so would need to cover the standard sales techniques along with effectively communicating around specific instructions to access a demo. Has any body got any ideas?

  1. Desk-top Sharing Via Web-conferencing
    Hi Julie!

I can’t comment so much on the sales training aspect, but when it comes to demoing an application via web-conferencing, a few things spring to mind.

    (a) product demos delivered via a live web-session need to be choreographed well, at least in the early days, so they are slick, so it would be helpful to develop a script/screen play ahead of the training.
    (b) you can never rehearse enough, so make sure that there is enough hands-on time during the training.
    (c) desktop-sharing via most web-conferencing platforms is made much easier if the sales person has closed down their other applications….as I’ve been amazed how many times, during a pause, I’ve been able to read the inbox of the sales person. Or choose a web-conferencing platform that locks the application being shared in its own fixed window.
    (d) A final tip…if space allows, have a separate PC next to the sales person, logged on as a dummy attendee, showing what the customer is seeing, as it’s important that the sales person paces him/herself given the possible time delays in screens refreshing and actually makes sure that what they tell the client they should be seeing, is what the client is actually seeing.
