This is indeed a valuable compendium providing questionaires and checklists across the range of policies, procedures and tasks necessary to plan, implement and monitor Health and Safety practice.

Two things in particular appealed to me:
1. The way in which Christine Martin conveys her belief that in each workplace there is the knowledge and the capability of examining and improving their practice. She does so by providing the tools, which enable managers and trainers to contextualise good working practices and encourage them to build that capacity for all staff involved.
2. Helpful for the trainer in particular, she provides examples, anecdotes and brief case studies to illustrate points and stimulate discussion and decisions.

If you are the look-out for either or both, a training programme or a basis for creating company wide management programme for Health and Safety, I would recommend this most highly.
