The IQA has over 14,000 individual members and affiliated organisations. Becoming a member entitles you to a considerable array of benefits, which assist your career development and can help enhance your business. So, what are the benefits of being a member of the IQA?

Qualifications

IQA recognises centres of excellence in some of the major academic institutions around the country. IQA offers a wide range of academic courses in quality held at colleges all over the UK and some by distance learning, which give academic qualifications.

Quality World

Quality World magazine is the monthly magazine of the Institute of Quality Assurance. Distributed to 15,000 readers it reports on the developments in quality. It also covers contemporary business issues such as the environment, company culture, software and health and safety. Featuring all the latest jobs in quality, it is the essential quality read.

As member of the IQA, you will receive a copy of Quality World each month.

The Quality Professional

The Quality Professional is a monthly supplement dedicated to the needs of the member. It covers events in your area and can put you in touch with like-minded quality professionals.
Professional recognition

IQA membership gives the individual recognition as a professional dedicated to the advancement of quality commensurate with the necessary levels of academic achievement, experience, training and integrity.
The IQA Information Service

Members have free access to the information facilities through the IQA Information Service, including professional advice on quality matters, factsheets, a bibliography service and useful contacts and addresses.
Conferences and seminars

Throughout the year, IQA hosts regional seminars and conferences. These take a look at quality and business techniques giving delegates the latest information on practices in the field. Members are entitled to discounts.
IQA Management Consultancy Register (MCR)

Members have access to the MCR either as a member, providing the required criteria are met, or as a client if they wish to employ a highly qualified and professional consultant.
Networking

With access to a comprehensive branch network, members can attend meetings and lectures throughout the year. The branches are an essential way to meet other quality professionals. There are currently over over 36 branches in the UK and overseas.
Continuing professional development (CPD)

All members are encouraged to participate in the IQA’s CPD scheme. This charts a member’s experience and training in the field of quality and can help a member aim for higher grades.
IQA website

Members have special access to the ‘Members only’ section of the IQA’s comprehensive website: www.iqa.org. This provides vital information on membership and gives access to pertinent quality information. IQA is active on many fronts. Becoming a member allows individuals to become involved in:
  • participation at national and international level - members are encouraged to take part in the many forums and committees to which IQA contributes

  • the ability to help influence developments in quality with access to special interest groups and other professional bodies linked with IQA

  • access to other members in similar areas of interest with a view to liaison and benchmarking

  • discounted advertising - either business related or for recruiting in Quality World and on the website

IQA QUALITY INFORMATION CENTRE (QIC)

QIC aims to provide all the information you need for you or your company's drive towards excellence. It can give answers to your most frequently asked questions and provide book reviews to guide you towards the most useful publications on quality. Its factsheets provide you with introductions to key subjects within quality. It also provides a job vacancy service and offer links to other key websites.
TRAINING

The IQA's training courses are run by experienced IQA approved tutors over one to five days. Classes are small in size to ensure maximum participation to all delegates.
  • The IQA specialises in providing cost-effective training for individuals, groups and organisations in all aspects of quality.

  • Whatever your level of knowledge, IQA has a training course designed to meet your needs.

  • Course trainers have been chosen from highly qualified industry experts with practical experience.

Members are receive discounts on the IQA’s extensive range of quality-related courses.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING

IQA also offers in-house training, which have been tailor-made to suit your company's requirements. The basic principles of the training courses apply to all industries and, based on the specific training needs, relevant case studies are provided.
