It’s that time of year again when our political parties gather on mass, somewhere provincial, preferable by the sea but defiantly outside of London, for their annual beano. This has got me thinking about Leadership or more specifically the current lack of it. Looking at the World, Europe and the UK everybody seems to be lurching from crisis to crisis and nowhere can I see any leaders stepping up. The 3 leaders of the political parties in the UK just don’t seem relevant anymore. Poor old Cleggy seems so ashamed of himself it’s almost uncomfortable to watch. Miliband has started to wheel out the old “one nation, rebuild Britain” rhetoric (obviously devoid of any ideas) and Cameron just seems out of touch (if he ever really was in touch) with the Country So where does this leave us. Europe is devoid of leadership and the US is as bad. So if not from politics where else can we look for our leaders? Sport has thrown up a plethora of heroes and sources of inspiration but very few leaders. So this has left me with the questions; are leaders running scared or are they a thing of the past?
