When Larry got home after meeting up with Brian his head was buzzing just thinking about what he was going to tell the leadership team in two days time. He decided to put together a preparation. He had been at the organisation long enough to know that they loved presentations. And he was going to make it a short one too. He brought out his laptop logged on and opened a new PowerPoint presentation. Lots of his trainer olleagues had talked about moving away from using PowerPoint, but it still had its uses and this was certainly one of them, educating the leadership team about a learning strategy and its purpose. He smiled to himself about that thought. He planned to use just four slides as he had only been given 15 minutes to speak. He scribbled on paper what would be on each slide as follows:
- Slide 1 - Title slide
- Slide 2 - First stop - Creating an organisational learning strategy
- Slide 3 - What is it?
- Slide 4 - Purpose and benefits.
Next he typed in all the slide titles and a bit of content for each slide apart from the title slide based on their heading. It took him just one hour, but he was pleased with his work. It was almost 11pm when he emailed Brian the completed presentation. Knowing Brian, he would probably still be awake reading or working. Brian didn't disappoint, exactly 30 minutes after Larry sent his presentation he called. Larry knew it would probably be another one hour before he could go to bed.
