TIM recommends…at Learning Technologies 2015

default-16x9

TIM, The Intelligent Mentor™ - If you haven’t already met TIM, then say hello to 'The Intelligent Mentor'
TIM is a set of machine learning algorithms that make Saba’s software smarter. By incorporating direct user input, plus observations on user behavior, TIM delivers proactive and personalised recommendations to each employee on content, connections and courses, as well as recommendations for candidates and successors for managers and HR. TIM’s timely suggestions help employees and the company grow, adapt and thrive.
TIM is getting to be incredibly well travelled now, having attended conferences and events around the world (need some pics from HR Tech Europe, Australia, Las Vegas etc). In January 2015 he’ll be landing in London for the annual Learning Technologies show. As part of the build up to this major event, he’ll be using his unique abilities to make some recommendations for those attending – and those following from afar.
#LT15UK
First things first, be part of the build-up. There is already some great activity on the official Learning Technologies hashtag #LT15UK. There is also a hashtag #LAS15UK used for the Learning and Skills event that is co-located on the same site. Already there are speakers, track chairs, attendees and exhibitors sharing useful resources so don’t miss out on what happens before the event itself.
Once at the conference itself, there are individual hashtags for each session. This is something the Learning Technologies team does really well. It enables those following the backchannel to easily filter the information they want to see. It’s also useful for attendees who might have missed certain sessions to go back over the stream later on and catch up. Details on this will follow in a later post as soon as they’ve been announced.
Learning and Skills Group
There’s also lots happening in the free Learning and Skills Group community (http://learningandskillsgroup.ning.com/) before the event. If you’re not already a member you can sign up for free and gain access to thousands of other learning professionals around the world, plus free webinars, blog posts, discussions and recordings of all the sessions at Learning Technologies 2015 after the event. What are you waiting for?
What’s on?
The full agenda and list of what’s happening can now be found on the Learning Technologies website (www.learningtechnologies.co.uk). The list reads like a who’s who of learning and the keynote speakers Professors Robert Winston and Sugata Mitra are not just famous in our world but real household names! I can’t wait to hear what they’ve got to say.
I’ll also be making recommendations on transport options, hotels, places to eat, where to get a decent cup of coffee and of course a deep dive into the different sessions and activities taking place. Stay tuned between now and 28th/29th January!
