Not so much a blog more a plea for info.
I am conducting a bit of a bench marking exercise to see how many hours/ days of training companies commit to providing to their retail management teams. To clarify this is training outside of the branch so does not include any ‘on the job’ learning.
That said I would also welcome feedback on what companies are doing as an alternative to the traditional workshop approach.
Because I have set up a brand new L&D function I am working on some KPIs I can submit to the directors. This will help me manage the expectations of the business in terms of the workshops it can expect me to deliver. It will also help me influence a commitment to more holistic blended approach to learning rather than a reliance on the traditional ‘at least 4 workshops a year’ philosophy that seems to be common across retail.
Whilst I work in fashion retail I would welcome ideas and observations from practitioners in other industries and those of you who are freelance and work with retail companies.
May thanks in advance for your help
