In a story in the Telegraph today it has been reported that William Hague, Leader of the Opposition, plans to scrap the New Deal, and replace it with an American styled system.
The new system would pay recruitment agaencies £1,500 for every person placed in work with a further £1,500 if they stayed in the job.
