Can anyone recommend a good train the trainer course?
It's for a member of staff, new to training, who has already completed her first year of CIPD.
It'd be good to access a course that's intense rather than a programme that is drawn out over a number of months.
We work in a south west based public sector organisation.

train the trainer course
I recommend a module of the MA in Development Training at St Martins Colleg, Lancaster entitled ‘Role of the Facilitator’. It is open to non-students when numbers allow, five days, residential, £750 all in. Next course Feb 27 – Mar 3rd 2006 in Cumbria. Very intense, critical study of theory, ideology and practice of facilitation in learning. See http://www.devtrg.ucsm.ac.uk/ and student site at http://www.developmenttraining.org.uk/ or get in touch with me for full description
Train the trainer
Hi Julie
I have used thinkingpeople for a training of trainers course and woud highly recommend them. They are really good at pitching their training to the needs of the group and create a relaxed but productive enviroment for learning.
They run courses for people with different levels of experience and also do work one-on-one with clients I believe. They have an office in Bristol so that may be useful.
Their e-mail is info@thinking-people.co.uk
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions.
Good luck!

Hi Julie
I would recommend the Group Training Certificate programme. It is a 3 day intensive programme equipping learners to design and deliver effective training programmes. Delegates have 2 skills practices and on successful completion receive a National Certificate.
