Trainers go for gold with new Olympic brokerage service

default-16x9

Trainers are being invited to sign up to a new web-based service in a bid to match up buyers with suppliers for London 2012 Olympics contracts.

CompeteFor will act as a brokerage service to ensure that businesses can take advantage of the opportunities available to them during the next few years.

"The area of east London is undergoing a massive regeneration at the moment, so there are lots of opportunities available for smaller companies to get involved," said Paul Tobin, Business Link programme manager for the London 2012 Games.

"There will be a need for training and training providers over the next four years and the 2012 games is only the tip of the iceberg. CompeteFor is essentially the catalyst and it will make people think about public sector procurement. If training providers get themselves involved as soon as possible, they will be able to access the big commercial contracts available for the taking."

Current opportunities include language training, health and safety training, diversity training and equal opportunities training. Professionals interested in bidding for contracts will be required to complete a business profile questionnaire when registering online. For more information visit CompeteFor or call 0845 600 9006.

CompeteFor lists opportunities from the Olympic Delivery Authority, London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd tier companies in the supply chains.
