Training company Academee has, for the second year running, been included in the Financial Times ‘Best Workplaces’ Top 50 listings.

Academee, based in Cheshire, specialises in blended learning approach which combines consultancy, face to face learning, e-learning and application development.

The company puts its success down to having clear values as a basis for successful workplace relationships, including the promotion of flexible working, equal opportunities and extensive learning opportunities for all employees. It also works to ensure there is active communication across the business and encourages everyone to take responsibility for their own personal growth and development.

“The continual hard work and creativity of our talented workforce has led to Academee becoming one of the leading providers of learning solutions in the UK,” says Academee CEO, Simon Hayward. “We are thrilled to have been recognised in this way for a second year, it’s a tremendous accolade.”

Jane O’Hara, PR Manager, has been working at Academee since she joined the organisation in a telemarketing role in 1994. “In the past 12 years, I have enjoyed working in a variety of marketing and PR roles within Academee. I’ve always felt that I’ve had a good balance of support and challenge to move my career forward and try new things. When I started, I was office based and worked full time. Now I work three days a week, two of them from home, and I have four weeks’ additional leave every August to spend the summer holidays with my three children. This flexibility has given me tremendous work-life balance and improved my quality of life.”

The Financial Times Top 50 ‘Best Workplaces’ supplement celebrates organisations across the UK where trust manifests itself in every relationship and where every employee is encouraged to participate in the business.
