I have to prepare a schedule of possible Government (DTI/DFEE) or TEC/Business Link/SBS/LSC) grants that might be available and wonder if anyone knows where I might go to get information on current offers?

try these web sites
these web sites hold some of the info you require and have links to many other sites – you need to dig a bit.
http://www.fefc.ac.uk
http://www.open.gov.uk
http://www.ufiltd.co.uk
also try the site for DfEE – not sure of it.
Have fun

Training Grants
Tony,you are quite correct. Gathering
information on training grants is not always
as straightforward as it seems….but, your
local Training and Enterprise Council (TEC)
(currently being superceded by Learning and
Skills Councils) are a good starting point as
a one stop shop. Go to http://www.tec.co.ukto
find the details for your local TEC. Please
note that some of these have formal combined
operations with Chambers of Commerce and have
become Chambers of Commerce Training and
Enterprise CCTEs.
In a similar way, Business Links are set up
with local offices. These in turn are being
superceded by the Small Business Service
(SBS). Their national website is at
http://www.businesslink.co.uk
You will often find that Business Link
operations are locally combined with those of
your local TEC.
Anthony’s comments could well prove helpful,
and the website for the Department for
Education and Employment is
http://www.dfee.gov.ukwhilst that for the
Department of Trade and Industry is
http://www.dti.gov.uk
Another group worth contacting is the British
Association of Open Learning (BAOL) at
http://www.baol.co.uk
