Training Overseas

default-16x9

My client is providing training in English, for 5 days, to delegates studying for an English vocational qualification. They are experiencing culture-related issues and are looking for ideas on how to overcome them.
Any practical advice would be appreciated.

    Ted
I have delivered training and consultancy projects in quite a few countries around the world, including China and Russia. I have written a couple of short articles that I am happy to send you if you drop me an email – one is on my experiences of working in Kosovo, the other about use of language.
You might also want to get hold of a copy of Martin Sloman’s new book ‘The Changing World of the Trainer’ and have a look at chapters 12 -14.

  2. Culture-related issues
    Hi Ted,

It’s hard to comment without knowing a bit more about what those issues might be. If you could post more details that would be helpful and I would be happy to comment. Alternatively, feel free to call me on 07977 163655 or 0117 956 4442 and we can discuss further. I work as a cross-cultural consultant and run thinkingpeople and am happy to give some free advice! I worked in China for 2 and a half years in teacher training and now run courses for universities working with Chinese and Russian students.

    Best wishes,

    Jo
