The Association of Computer Trainers (ACT) has welcomed the investigation that MPs have called into the Individual Learning Account Scheme. ACT have stated that they consider the issue to be urgent for the whole of the training community, including large and small training providers and indivduals looking for the some help in improving their skills.
Jams O'Brien, managing director of Pitman Training, will be giving evidence on Wednesday 23rd Jan. As he said in an interview for TrainingZone, Pitman Trainng were among the providers to have expressed their doubts early on about the security of the funding. He has stated that he will be glad of this opportunity to give an established and reputable training provider's response to the collapse of the scheme, and to suggest how its more successful aspects could be carried forward.
The National Audit Office is also investigating the use of public money in the scheme. They were called in several weeks ago by the DfES.
