Next week, it'll be time again for one of the key training exhibitions of the year, held in Birmingham at the NEC. We take a sneak preview of the planned events for this year's Training Solutions show, which is running alongside the H.O.T conference.

Last year's show attracted nearly 5,000 visitors and over 200 exhibitors. Training Solutions 2001, taking place on 26,27 and 28 June, will be hosting a similar number of exibitors, over 1000 free training seminars, an e-learning theatre showcasing 18 examples of e-learning in practice and a lunch briefing for UKHRD members. Among the new products and services on offer, Filofax Time Management are launching several new courses on communication, project management and presentation skills, PC coaching will be showing off their latest mobile training rooms, PhoneCoach Ltd will be displaying their range of telephone training equipment for the first time and Edexcel will be launching 'Becoming Webwise', a new online step-by-step guide to the internet developed in association with the BBC. Edvantage, MPower and Skill Boosters are among those displaying their wares for the first time. Also expect some of the usual fun and games, including Acumen's giant Jenga challenge, and Oddball Training's head massager! On a more serious note, there's also a new Language and Cultural Learning Area to mark the European Year of Languages, a focus on Drama-Based Training, and of course, the H.O.T. conference, being organised by TrainingZONE itself!

For the second year running, the show will be taking place in virtual reality as well as live in Birmingham. The Training Solutions 2001 Virtual Exhibition is live from 30 May to 10 July 2001 at www.training-shows.co.uk, so you can find out about the latest products and services on offer from suppliers, ask for more information, evaluate products without actually being there! It's also a good opportunity to preview the event to plan ahead, if you're planning to visit for real - you can book meetings with suppliers ahead of the event.

Frazer Chesterman, Show Director of Training Solutions 2001 says: "All the elements of Training Solutions 2001 - the live show, the virtual show and the H.O.T. Conference – will combine to make this year's show the best ever. There is no better way to see up to the minute product developments and hear the latest thinking and current views of industry leaders than by visiting the show."
