Training Team Workshop

default-16x9

I'm looking to schedule monthly (?) meetings for all of our trainers.

This would be an opportunity for us to talk about all things training related, e.g. new training aides, share experiences, introduce new ideas etc….much like Training Zone!

Does anyone do anything similar?

If so what format do you follow etc.?

One Response

  1. Ask the team

A good starting point could be to ask the team what they want to get out of these meetings. If they are involved in creating the format, there tends to be more of a buy in to the format.

Having been involved in a few trainers meetings, the things I have found work well are:

A CPD/Development section – This could be one on the team on a monthly basis sharing something new, what they are working on, a theory they have found interesting or some change in the market that will affect L&D. It is a good idea to get someone different to do each section. The time you spend on it depends on how long your meetings will be.

Icebreaker – This would help the team to get to know each other better, but it also shares resources within the team.

What are the team plans for the next month or two – What course are we running, how many are booked on the course, What is in development, who is working on what and how it is going.

I have an issue – A chance for a problem or issue to be brought to the group to see if the rest of the team can help to overcome it. This could be done in the Action Learning Set format.

Updates – What am I currently working on done by each team member

Let get some feedback – I have produced an activtiy/training aid and I would like to test it out and get your thougths and feedback.
